Collision after vehicle runs red light

Emergency services attend the scene of an accident at the intersection of Andersons Bay Rd and State Highway 1, in Dunedin, yesterday.

A man driving a 4WD south on Andersons Bay Rd failed to stop at a red light and hit a station wagon driven by a woman travelling north about 1.45pm yesterday, Senior Constable Fred Jansen said.

The ''frontal impact'' deployed the air bag in the station wagon, Sen Const Jansen said.

''The lady who was hit was a bit shocked and will be a bit seat-belt-sore.''

A St John spokeswoman said both drivers had minor injuries and no-one had to be transported by ambulance.
