Otago Boys' has made it to the top four for a second straight year. The school had not done that before, Martin said.
But the side does not want to finish its season today. It wants to do just as well as last year when it made it to the final before losing to St Kentigern.
Otago Boys' has lost just one game this season - to Christchurch Boys' in an interschool - and played one of its best games in winning the South Island title, with a 26-20 victory over Marlborough Boys' College last Sunday.
The Otago Boys' forward pack stepped up a level last week, with big No 8 Tui Katoa having one of his best games of the season.
Much will centre around the front row of Jonah Aoina, Jermaine Ainsley and captain Sekonaia Pole.
They will be seeking to dominate at scrum time and make the advantage line.
In addition, midfielders Sio Tomkinson and Hemaua Samasoni will need to stand tall against some top attacking talent.
St Kentigern, the world schools champion, is on an unbeaten run of more than 50 games. It has 17 players back from its successful team last year, though it took a last-minute penalty to win the Auckland title last month, beating Auckland Grammar in the final.
The other semifinal is between Hamilton Boys' High School and Wellington College.
