Clark is one of four loan players on display for North Otago at Forsyth Barr Stadium tomorrow.
Dunedin loosehead prop Will Henry, Southern halfback Robbie Smith and Fijian fullback Semeli Koniferedi are also in the starting XV.
Smith is a ''state of origin'' player, having played his secondary school rugby at St Kevin's College. Koniferedi, who was late arriving to club rugby, is a designated overseas player.
Missing from the 2012 Heartland Championship squad and still playing in North Otago are prop Rangi Hepi, hooker Michael Paterson, lock-flanker Sale Pi'i, flanker Willie Tahitua, halfback Nick Webster - who has taken up refereeing - and Athletic Marist winger Sione Pangata.
An interesting player on the bench is Maheno utility back Jamie Robb, who played for Waitaki Boys' High School at first five-eighth, a position which is wide open this season.
Otago Country is looking to put together a better season than last year when it did not win a game.
Country coach Roger Cotton said the attitude appeared better this year and good numbers were turning up at training.
Players appeared more committed this season and a full programme, with the main games against Southland Country and Canterbury Country, was set for the next few weeks.
Otago Country is missing 10 players tomorrow, the bulk of them playing in the countrywide final between Heriot and Maniototo in Ranfurly today.
Otago backs Matt Faddes and Jayden Spence will turn out for the Country side tomorrow.
Faddes, who played for the New Zealand sevens team this year, will start at fullback, while Spence, who is coming back from a serious concussion, will turn out at centre. Faddes hails from Balclutha, and Spence is originally from Alexandra.
Country will be captained by Clutha No 8 Simon Grant, whose brother, Paul, will captain Otago, also at No 8, in the main game, when Otago takes on Bay of Plenty.
