A movie following the 2013 Coast to Coast screens in Arrowtown tomorrow, two months after a Queenstown tourism company bought the world's longest-running multisport race.

In May, Trojan Holdings bought the event, founded by race director Robin Judkins 30 years ago. The Coast to Coast involves entrants running, cycling and kayaking from the West Coast of the South Island to the east coast, finishing at Sumner in Christchurch.

The Coast to Coast movie tour will visit 11 venues nationally, five in the North Island and six in the South Island.

The 40-minute movie, produced by Sportzhub.com, chronicles the 2013 event, with coverage of both the one-day world championship event and the two-day event.

Highlights include the participation of Olympic gold medal rower Mahe Drysdale.

Mr Judkins said he was ''over the moon'' with the movie and he would host the South Island presentations, including in Arrowtown.

''It really captures the essence of the event. But the tour is also a great chance for people to meet other multisporters and quiz us on the event.

''If you're thinking about entering the Speight's Coast to Coast in any fashion, it's a chance to find out everything you ever wanted to know.''

• The 2013 Coast to Coast South Island movie tour, Dorothy Brown's Cinema, Arrowtown, Wednesday, July 31, 6.30pm.
