Garments spanning decades of fashion are being brought out of the closet for an inaugural vintage clothing sale in Dunedin this weekend.
The Vintage Roundup, organised by Dunedin woman Tannia Lee, will include clothing from long-time vintage collectors as well as retailers who specialise in past styles.
Mrs Lee said pre-1950s dresses and gowns would be available alongside colourful 1980s creations as well as new clothing inspired by former eras.
Steampunk, theatre costume, clothes made from vintage fabric and even outfits from the 1990s were being sold.
''It's going to be a real mixture,'' she said.
About half the stalls were being operated by collectors from the wider Dunedin area, providing items not otherwise available.
''There's a few that haven't brought their wares out for a long time.
''They have items from their personal wardrobes which they have collected over the years,'' Mrs Lee said.
The cash-only sale is located upstairs in the Oxford Building on Moray Pl from 10am to 4pm today and tomorrow.
Mrs Lee timed the event to coincide with iD Dunedin Fashion Week.
