Emergency services attend a fatal crash involving a logging truck and a car on State Highway 1 south of Dunedin yesterday afternoon.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said it received a call shortly after noon yesterday to attend a crash involving a truck and a car on SH1, also known as the East Taieri Allanton Rd.
One person died in the crash, while another was injured.
The truck overturned and logs were strewn across the road, while the car came to rest on the side of the road.
Two fire crews from Mosgiel and Lookout Point attended the crash, roughly halfway between Allanton and Mosgiel.
The road was closed once emergency services arrived at the scene. It reopened about 10pm.
A St John spokesman said one person with moderate injuries was taken by ambulance to hospital.
