The start of day two in the first test between New Zealand and India in Hyderabad has been delayed due to rain.
The city centre was hit by a heavy rainstorm earlier this morning but Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, which is about 20 minutes away, has kept relatively dry.
The covers are still on, protecting the wicket block and much of the infield, and umpires Ian Gould and Steve Davis are currently inspecting the outfield.
Play was due to start at 4pm NZT but, as long as the rain stays away, the delay shouldn't last too long.
It was almost inevitable this series would suffer some sort of rain delay - this is the first time test cricket has been played in August in India, the peak of the monsoon season.
While the series was kept to the south of the country to avoid much of the rain, it was hardly surprising to see parts of the city flooding this morning.
When play does resume, New Zealand will seek some early scalps to avoid India compiling too formidable a first innings total.
At the close of play yesterday, India were 307-5 with Cheteshwar Pujara unbeaten on 119 and MS Dhoni on 29 not out.
