Name: Miles Bridgman.
Job title: Coronet Peak custodian.
Q) Where are you from?
A) Devon, England.
Q) How many seasons have you done in the job and why did you choose it?
A) First season. I've done F&B [food and beverage] before and wanted a change, so this sounded interesting.
Q) How would you describe the work?
A) It's a good variety of work, it keeps me busy all the time and every day is different.
Q) What's the best thing about it?
A) The people I work with, getting to mix with all departments and not being stuck in one place.
Q) And the worst thing?
A) The unpleasant surprises that are left in the bathroom.
Q) How are you settling in to life in Queenstown?
A) I love it here. It's expensive, but fun and I'm settling in.
Q) What's the best advice you have for someone moving to Queenstown for seasonal work?
A) Take your time looking for accommodation, socialise with everyone you work with and make the most of the snow.
Q) What's your most amusing skifield experience?
A) At staff night ski, we had a pie-eating competition across both mountains and all departments.
My department nominated me because I am a massive pie fan but I was the only person who couldn't even finish one.
Devastated!
