Autumn festival co-ordinator Deborah Husheer, who had a baby seven weeks ago, is taking time out from the role she has held for three years.
Ms Husheer, who co-ordinated a successful festival in April, said it was time she took a back seat for a while and allowed someone else to step up.
There had already been inquiries about the part-time position, Ms Husheer said.
The autumn festival committee would conduct interviews and then pick the best candidate, she said.
The role would require experience in events management, high motivation and good organisation skills.
"Your're doing a lot of work on your own and you're managing everything from go to whoa," she said.
This meant duties such as marketing, budgeting, advertising and liaising with the media.
The autumn festival committee comprised eight members who intended to continue the festival as a family-orientated event, Ms Husheer said.
"It's got that community feel and involvement.
"The person will want to enjoy working with a range of people."
Applications close next Monday and the committee hopes to have a new co-ordinator by the end of August.
Destination Queenstown is advertising for someone to take over Mr Green's role.
Applications for that position close on August 3.
