About 20 scarecrows were entered into the competition, the first official event of this year's festival, Ruby and Charlie's effort being named the winner of the 7-12 age group.
All the scarecrows entered in the competition have been hung along Buckingham St and will remain there for the duration of the annual 10-day festival.
