It will remain tightrope-tense at the top of the FPL, with little room for error, as Caversham and Dunedin Technical strain for supremacy.
Both teams are on 11 competition points, with Caversham a nose in front due to a marginally better goal difference of four.
In such a tight situation, the league is more likely to be decided by mistakes than creative play.
Caversham has home advantage against Roslyn-Wakari and, while coach Richard Murray's side starts as favourite, there have already been slip-ups that offer hope to the minnows.
Few would have picked a 1-1 draw between Northern and Technical, and even fewer the 0-0 draw between Caversham and Grants Braes.
So, hope springs eternal for the chasing pack, and Roslyn's earlier toothless performances have improved markedly, with a 6-0 thumping of Northern and a 2-1 win over Mosgiel in a battling match last week that vibrated until the final whistle.
Striker James Govan celebrated his return from injury with both of Roslyn's goals, and Damian Foster's aggressive play forced errors in Mosgiel's ranks.
Roslyn is fourth in the FPL and has the bonus of a game in hand.
But Caversham has the best statistics in the league - fewest goals conceded, and averaging three goals per match. With Ant Hancock's central thrust, backed by flank play on either side by Anton Ross and Harley Rodeka, the red attack is near irresistible on home turf.
Technical makes the arduous winter journey to Queenstown to play Rovers, which showed unbelievable improvement to beat Braes 7-2 last week.
Queenstown itself has suffered some crushing defeats this season, conceding eight goals to Caversham, seven to Mosgiel and four to University.
Technical will seek not just a win, but will also will be keen to hit the net often to improve its goal difference, which some are already computing with an eye to the end-of-season statistics.
In ace striker Aaron Burgess, Technical has a high-calibre finisher, who combines well with flowing support from Frenchman Victor da Costa. Then add Technical's lofty air force of Matt Joy and Liam Lockhart with ammunition supplied by Tristan Prattley.
University plays Green Island at the Caledonian Ground and, after both sides lost last week, Varsity 4-0 to Technical and the Island 3-0 to Caversham, the coaches will have been cracking the whip in midweek training.
Varsity can play attractive attacking football, but coach Malcolm Fleming will have his Island side primed to punish mistakes, and there will be swarming attacks from both sides.
Northern has had a week off to recharge batteries, and may need a spark of inspiration from coach Steve Brook to take its first win of the season.
Mosgiel's early dynamic form has faded. The Plainsmen have not won for three weeks, and will be buzzing at Memorial Park to make amends in front of their fans.
