Dan King-Turner's return to the professional tennis circuit has started well after he progressed through qualifying to make the main draw of the US$125,000 men's challenger event in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The former New Zealand No 1's future was uncertain after he missed a lot of last year with an ankle injury but he has got a taste of professional tennis again and made a decision in Easter to give it another crack.
He made the final of a futures event in his first tournament a fortnight ago and knocked out top seed Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan 6-2 6-7(4) 6-3 to qualify for the main draw at the challenger event in Kaohsiung.
He faces Yuichi Sugita of Japan in the first round.
