Dunedin player Libby Scott will receive a further boost in the world junior rankings after successes in an ITF tournament in Gosford.

Scott, partnered by Heidi Stewart, reached the final of the doubles.

Seeded fifth, after being seeded eighth last week when they won the Sydney International title, the Kiwi pair won a series of straight sets matches to get to the title match.

However they lost the first set 6-4, fought back to win the second 6-1, but went down in the third-set tiebreak 11-9 against Ellen Perez and Stephanie Yamada.

In the singles, Scott lost in the second round to Anja Dokic 6-4, 7-6. Dokic was in turn eliminated by the eventual winner of the title, Naiktha Bains.

Scott rebounded from this to win four consecutive singles matches in straight sets to claim the consolation title for players knocked out before the quarterfinal, and pick up some ranking points as a bonus.

Stewart, the 13th seed, lost in the semifinal to Annabelle Andrinopoulos, the same player who eliminated Scott in Sydney.
