Tongan language celebrated

Youth members of the Fale Pasifika O Aoraki Trust perform a traditional Tongan dance at the Oamaru Public Library yesterday, as part of Tongan Language Week.

Groups from Oamaru's Fenwick School and St Joseph's School also performed several items at the library earlier in the day.

The group from the trust performed two dances and a song, and invited those watching to take part in one of the dances.

Tongan Language Week started on Sunday and runs until Saturday.
