Planting part of ongoing project

Tomahawk Smaills Beachcare Trust members (from left) Rima Krause and Sally Dicey help plant one of 1000 native bushes along the coastline of Smaills Beach yesterday.

It was the first planting for 2019 and is part of an ongoing project to restore the back dunes of Tomahawk and Smaills beaches, and improve the biodiversity of the area.

More than 60 volunteers helped with the planting. More planting is planned for later this year.
