Tyler Kade Christie, 22, pleaded guilty to possessing a knife when he appeared in the Dunedin District Court on Friday.

Court documents say the pair were later seen in an altercation in the carpark at the Pool House.
Christie took with him a 1.2m metal pole with a broken knife taped to the end of it.
He told police he took the weapon because he thought he was going to be "smashed".
Yesterday, counsel Rhona Daysh argued for a "lenient" sentence of a conviction and discharge.
She said the offending was "quite out of character" for Christie, who had seven driving-related convictions but none for violence.
Community magistrate Sally O’Brien said Christie had made an "incredibly foolish decision", but noted he had no convictions for similar behaviour.
She convicted and discharged him and ordered the weapon be destroyed.
