Rob Harwood spruces up a bus shelter near Portobello, on Otago Peninsula, yesterday.

The shelter's mural was one of 65 painted by the late Dunedin artist John Noakes, many of which continue to adorn shelters scattered across the city.

Mr Harwood - a sub-contractor to the Dunedin City Council - said he was working to restore Mr Noakes' work on several of the shelters, and was pleased with the results and the feedback from the public.

"It's good they [council] are keeping his designs, really. A lot of people are saying they are pleased."
