What was the best birthday present you ever received, and why?
For my sixth birthday (a.k.a. the age of cultural appropriation unawareness) I was given a Native American costume made from chamois cloth. It was license to be imaginatively fearless in my own backyard.
What smell do you find irresistible?
Tea roses after it has been raining.
What is your least favourite thing about humanity?
Resistance to curiosity, empathy and humour.

Sage green for its salubrious yet unsentimental hue and oxymoronic name.
