The great gig in the sky - Queenstown's Over The Top Rock concert on Cecil Peak - has been cancelled due to bad weather, consent issues and the Christchurch earthquake.
Organiser Ben Lynch said it was "a shame" it could not go ahead, but he hoped to bring it back next year, possibly at an alternative venue.
"We have to try to find some places where we can make the decisions on the day; somewhere we can definitely do it on the day will make some things a bit easier."
A 60% refund will be made to purchasers, including the helicopter expense portion of the $595 trip.
