The return of Jodi Brown and a couple of new names are the features of the Otago team named for the Lois Muir challenge.
The challenge competition is in its fourth year and was set up initially as a development competition for players who were not picked in the five New Zealand ANZ Championship franchises.
Otago picks its team with an eye on age group teams and the national provincial championship in September.
Brown comes back into the team after recently giving birth to her second child and her experience and ability to find the goal will be a huge plus to the side.
New talent to the team, which will be coached by Georgie Salter, assisted by Noeline Scott, includes Stacey Peeters (Southland) and Storm Purvis (Auckland), who have both played for New Zealand secondary schools team and are current members of the national under-21 side.
Maia Hill is the other new face and has previously represented Canterbury at age group level. Claire Adams, who played well for Otago under-19 at the age group national tournament, gets a call-up alongside Grace Power, who will get a chance to impress for the first time in this competition.
Due to the Christchurch earthquake, a decision has not been made regarding the draw, as some games had been scheduled for Christchurch.
