De La Soul and special guests perform the album in its entirety from start to finish in the lower Shotover St venue on Friday, February 26, at 9.30pm.
It will be the influential trio's third and final New Zealand gig after Wellington on February 24 and Dunedin on February 25.
Produced by DJ producer Prince Paul, band members Mase, Dave and Pos created classic De La joints including "(A Rollerskatin' Jam Called) Saturdays", "Ring Ring", "Keepin' The Faith" and "Pass the Plugs".
The New York hip-hop pioneers are no strangers to Otago, with DJ Maseo performing solo in Queenstown and Dunedin in August.
However, Queenstown missed out on a live national tour by all three members of De La Soul when they played in Wanaka in May 2009 due to venue hiring costs.
Revolver co-owner John Stapleton said this week it was great to have them down this part of the world.
"They definitely enjoy the vibe down here. They're the first positive influence on hip-hop for 20 years, so it will span a few generations, with their collaboration with Gorillaz as well.
"They can definitely put on a show. There's only 350 tickets due to the size of the venue, so I think people need to buy early."
Tickets will be available from Revolver and Quest stores in Queenstown, Wanaka and Invercargill for $65 plus booking fee.
