A fire communications spokesman said fire services were alerted to an incident shortly after 7am that indicated a man had fallen from a cliff at Tunnel Beach.
The man had fallen about 8m from the track and then a further 2m on to rocks.
Fire services established a line-rescue rig and hauled the man up using a harness.
