Robb, who has won 36 North Otago titles, was one of three bowlers from the south who reached post-section play in the Henselite singles.
In the first round of the post-section draw, Robb was beaten 11-10 by Alex Reed (Auckland), who finished runner-up in the final.Reed, a North Island representative this year, was a member of the Auckland team that won the Welch Trophy.
Daniel French (Otago, Dunedin) and Brian Hotton (Southland) were also beaten in close first round post-section games.
French lost to Paul Smith (Tauranga) 10-9, and Brian Hotton (Southland) lost to Mike King (Canterbury) 10-9.In the quarter-finals of the plate, Eileen Grant (South Otago) was beaten by Brendon Kenny (Whanganui) 10-8, and Kevin Hurley (Central Otago) lost to Sharon Peters (North Harbour) 13-6.
Ashley Diamond (Upper Hutt Valley) won his second Henselite singles title when he beat Alex Reed 11-8. He also won in 2015.It has been a successful season for Diamond who won two Australasian medals in the Trans Tasman event in Sydney.
