Wellington melodic pop-rockers Supermodel remind New Zealanders what they have been missing while the quartet has been wowing the United Kingdom.

The hotly-tipped band takes in Queenstown's Dux de Lux, on Thursday, September 16, as part of its 11-date national Welcome Home tour.

Lead singer-songwriter-guitarist Mark Hanify, sister Rose Hanify on keyboards, bass player Michael White and drummer Tony Kemp, who all also supply backing vocals, return to these shores after recording their debut album with Welsh producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Opshop).

New single Send Me Dreaming is the band's follow-up to earlier single Walk of Shame. The album is due for release early next year.

Since forming in 2006, Supermodel has opened for Midnight Youth, Gin Wigmore, the Feelers, Jonny Love, Frankie Stevens and Dane Rumble and entertained crowds of up to 15,000 at outdoor events, such as the Jackson St Fiesta, the Island Bay Festival and Toast Martinborough.
