Retailers, designers and entertainers are combining to support local youth through a fundraising fashion show to be held at Subculture tomorrow night.
The event promises to be a great display of local fashion and entertainment, with all proceeds going to the Queenstown Lakes Family Centre, which provides free counselling for young people and adults.
Organiser Tamara Ashby said she had the idea for the event after she was approached by Lisa May from Nikita clothing about creating an event to raise awareness of youth issues.
"I knew about the Queenstown Lakes Family Centre through many of my friends who have children, and I know the Centre does an awesome job for the young members of our local community," Ms Ashby said.
Queenstown Lakes Family Centre manager Deb Beadle was "so very happy" to receive support from the event .
"We are a charitable trust, run by locals, for locals. We spend a lot of time raising funds for the work we do, so when someone from the local community comes forward with such wonderful support, it is extra special for us," Ms Beadle said.
The fashion show will feature local designers and retailers, including Nine Body Coverage, Zanzi, Nikita, Shoe Clinic and Nini Jewellery, and there will be donated items of clothing for silent auction.
There will also be plenty of entertainment by Loco on sax, Downtown Brown, Salsa Dancers, Bevan Garland and Marc Shaw, Queenstown Pole Fitness Studio.
"Everyone involved has donated their services and products to the cause, so we can ensure every cent goes towards the great cause we support," Ms Ashby said.
The ticket price includes food, a glass of wine, a vodka cocktail and a "goodie bag".
