English team operations manager Gavin Dovey, originally of Australia and formerly the England Rugby Union's anti-doping officer, was in Queenstown yesterday finalising details before the team's arrival in the resort.
The England party - 30 players and 20 management - will spend three nights in the resort, from September 19 to 21, before heading to Dunedin for another three nights.
While the team's time in Queenstown might be short, Dovey said it would be engaging with the local community as much as possible.
"We'll have two games out of the way [by the time we get to Queenstown] and in an ideal world we'll be two and zip.
"We'll work with the local council and tourism guys to work through what sort of opportunities there are ... we're really keen to engage with all of the communities we're in.
"That can take a number of different forms - it could be open training sessions, signing sessions, visiting schools, hospitals, rugby clubs."
Dovey was in an English group, which included team manager Martin Johnson, that visited New Zealand last year.
The latest check on facilities was impressive and there appeared to be no changes required, he said.
The team would be training at various facilities in the resort.
"It's going to be perfect for us - everything is here in one spot. It's pretty simple what we need and this facility provides all of that."
However, it was important for the team to find a balance off the field and "a sense of normality", allowing it to "experience the buzz of the World Cup and everything that comes with it. It can't all be work."
