Finding a classy cure for jetlag

I have found the cure for jetlag.

It's something I would never have known about without a helping hand from Cathay Pacific recently.

And alas, it's not a cure I will use often in the future.

This is it: fly business class.

From free food and drinks in the airport lounge and specially fast check-in lanes to lie-flat beds with duvets and pillows, delicious meals and drinks, and movies on demand on your very own screen, the whole experience is guaranteed to make you feel pampered and special.

A wall around you gives privacy, and all you need to do is slip off your shoes, slip on the comfy bedsocks from the complimentary sponge bag (which also contains moisturiser, toothpaste and toothbrush, among other goodies), recline your seat to whatever angle you desire, and relax.

Perhaps you might let the seat's massage function take the kinks out of your back.

Watch TV, eat, drink or sleep as you wish.

Mostly, I chose sleep.

The 12-hour flights to and from Hong Kong and London went by in a dream.

In Hong Kong I took a shower in the Cathay Pacific lounge, then checked my emails before having a light meal and a glass of wine - all free - before boarding the plane for the next 12-hour leg, fresh as a daisy.

Oh, how the other half live!
