Police are still investigating a duck-shooting accident on a Tarras property at the weekend.
Two Christchurch men, both aged 32, received facial injuries from shotgun pellets on Saturday morning while shooting on a farm.
A pellet entered the eye of one of the men and the second man received cheek and forehead injuries.
Sergeant Ian Kerrisk, of Alexandra, said yesterday "We still have inquiries to complete, which include speaking with all those people involved, and examining the area where the accident happened. That may all take quite some time."
Sgt Kerrisk said at the weekend police were satisfied it was not a deliberate shooting and that alcohol was not a factor.
The accident was not the result of a faulty firearm, he said.
