Otago Orcas win under 12 national champs in Auckland

The Otago under 12 water polo team had huge success at the national tournament of Olympic hopefuls held in Auckland recently, winning their grade.

The team had a superb tournament across the three days of competition, winning every match and cementing their place at the top of the junior grade for Olympic hopefuls.

Day 1 - The team had a successful start on opening day, with a massive 11-0 win over the Waitakere navy team, a forfeit win in game 2, and a convincing 6-1 win again Atlantis White.

Day 2 - The Orcas team performed equally well on day two, finishing off their round-robin matches with a tough challenge against the Hibiscus Coast red team, securing a 6-4 win and placing them top of the pool to head into the semifinals.
Their semifinal match against Harbour Dolphins team, the Orcas showed incredible fitness and strength to win the game 12-3.

Day 3 - Grand Finals time! Up against the North Harbour Frogs and a home crowd, the Orcas showed their class and composure leaving nothing in the tank for a nail-biting 6-3 win, crowned as Olympic Hopefuls champions and representing the South with talent and pride!
