With less than three weeks until the emissions trading scheme (ETS) starts, the ACT party is still determined to see it delayed.
ACT leader Rodney Hide has called a public meeting in Papakura, Auckland, on Monday night to speak about why the ETS is "bad for New Zealand".
He said he would also discuss matters in the party's confidence and supply agreement with National, including regulatory reform and three strikes.
The ETS, designed to encourage polluters to curb their greenhouse gas emissions, is being enacted at a moderate level here from July 1, and it will be ramped up in 2013 and 2015 subject to reviews and efforts by major trading partners to enact their own schemes.
The Government says costs to the average household will initially be about $165 a year due to increased power and petrol costs.
