A Rotorua woman accused of assaulting a one-year-old baby who later died had her identity revealed today.
Sasha Pene, 29, who is accused of assaulting Trent Matthews, entered no plea when she reappeared in Rotorua District Court.
Trent was found dead on Friday at the Edmund Rd home, where he lived with Pene and her partner Joe Matthews. He died the next day.
Pene's lawyer Bill Lawson asked that she be further remanded to a Kaitaia address as police investigations continue.
Judge Arthur Tompkins remanded Pene on bail to July 8.
