Wild named new appeal court judge

High Court judge Justice John Richard Wild is stepping up to the Court of Appeal effective tomorrow, Attorney-general Christopher Finlayson announced today.

Justice Wild was appointed a judge of the High Court in 1998.

He has been an author of McGechan on Procedure and was involved in a number of commissions of inquiry. From 1992 to 1998 he was a member of the Council of the New Zealand Bar Association and he served as its president in 1998.

In 1993 he was appointed Queen's Counsel.
