Friday the 13th is unlucky for some, but not when it comes to picking Lotto numbers.
After a spot of number crunching, Lotto NZ says 13 is one of the most drawn numbers from its machine.
And with tomorrow's Powerball jackpot sitting at $25 million, it could make this weekend very lucky for somebody.
If won by a single ticket, it will be the third highest Powerball prize in Lotto history.
That means choosing the number 13 on Friday 13, 2013, could be a lucky omen to becoming an instant multi-millionaire this weekend.
Official number frequency statistics released by Lotto today show the number one is the most common number drawn - with the ball dropping through the machine 271 times out of 1370 draws.
It is followed by number seven, with 268 appearances. Number 13 comes in third, with 264 balls, meaning it has appeared in 19 per cent of Lotto's draws since 1987.
