Three teenagers accused of being involved in an alleged illegal street race crash which resulted in a teenage girl having part of her leg amputated have appeared in North Shore District Court.
Kahn Roper, 18, is charged with unlawful street racing causing injury and driving with excess alcohol. He was bailed to reappear on October 20.
Raymond Marsh, 19, is also charged with unlawful street racing causing injury. He was remanded on bail to reappear on October 23.
Brendan Ashton, 18, is charged with giving false information to police. He was bailed to reappear on October 21.
The charges were laid after an incident in which Amy Duncan, 17, lost part of her leg.
Ms Duncan, who was not connected to the racing, was crossing a carpark in the North Shore suburb of Bayview early on April 10 when a car lost control and hit her.
She was rushed to hospital, where doctors had to amputate her leg below the knee.
The former Glenfield College student was planning to serve in the Royal New Zealand Navy as a gunner.
