Two teenagers have been arrested and charged with burglary after aviation fuel was drained from an air ambulance.
The theft, at Feilding Aerodrome, was discovered when a pilot noticed a fuel cap had been left sitting on a wing on Monday.
About 400 litres of aviation gas, worth about $700, was stolen, Air Manawatu charter company chief executive Michael Bryant told the Manawatu Standard.
A 17-year-old man had been bailed to reappear in Palmerston North District Court tomorrow, police said.
An 18-year-old man was arrested yesterday and was to appear in court today. Both would face two charges of burglary.
The incident had been reported to the Civil Aviation Authority.
Security at the aerodrome had been boosted as a result.
