Teen charged over pizza attack

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated robbery after an assault on a pizza delivery man in Palmerston North.

The 52-year-old victim was sent to deliver three pizzas to a house in Brentwood Ave in Highbury about 11pm on Monday but when he got there no one appeared to be about.

As he left, he was struck twice by a male carrying a golf club, with one blow landing across his face and another on his thigh.

He was taken to Palmerston North Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The teen is due to appear in Palmerston North District Court tomorrow.

Police today said they were still looking for another person thought to have been involved in the attack and asked anyone who saw suspicious activity in Brentwood, Croydon or Farnham avenues in Highbury to contact Palmerston North police.
