A cleaner accused of kidnapping a woman and holding her hostage for 35 hours was today refused bail when he appeared in Hawera District Court.
Jerome Clinton Rei, 23, from Patea, south Taranaki, faced a total of 12 charges including assaulting and injuring the woman.
He was remanded in custody for a pre-depositions hearing on April 6.
