A man has been airlifted to Dunedin Hospital after being hit by a tree in a workplace incident near Kurow this morning.
The incident, in which the 50-year-old sustained serious injuries, happened on a private property in Hakataramea just before noon, a St John spokesman said.
Senior sergeant Craig Brown, of Dunedin, said police were still at the scene.
Worksafe NZ had been advised of the incident, he said.
No other details were available.
