A 64-year-old man will appear in Tauranga District Court this morning charged with murder.
The arrest follows the death of a woman outside a house in Bell Street, Tauranga, yesterday afternoon.
Detective Inspector Greg Turner says specialists will return to the scene today for a detailed scene examination.
