A man has appeared in court this morning charged with causing the death of a Rotorua hunter.
Henry Robert Worsp, 36, appeared before a registrar in Rotorua District Court.
He has not entered a plea to a charge of causing the death of James Dodds by careless use of a firearm, namely a .270 calibre Sako riffle.
Worsp was remanded on bail to reappear again on November 14.
A condition of his bail is to not possess or use firearms or ammunition.
Mr Dodds 30, was shot dead during a hunting expedition in Waikite Valley, south of Rotorua, on September 7.
