A man is to appear in court tomorrow over an attack on a 99-year-old woman in her Palmerston North home almost two weeks ago.
The woman, seriously injured in the home invasion, is still in Palmerston North Hospital.
Police Central Districts communications manager Kim Perks said the woman had been able to give police more information about the attack.
As a result a 20-year-old man would appear in Palmerston North District Court tomorrow charged with indecent assault, male assaults female, and burglary.
Police were alerted to the woman's plight after neighbours in Rangiora Avenue, Roslyn, reported hearing screams about 2am on November 13. It was understood that the woman awoke to find an intruder in her house.
She was taken to Palmerston North Hospital with arm and leg injuries.
A 20-year-old man was arrested a short time after the attack.
