A Lower Hutt man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl at his house last year appeared in Wellington District Court today.
It was alleged the then 38-year-old man invited his young daughter and her friend, the complainant, to his Upper Hutt house to drink alcohol after school on June 1 last year.
The complainant said the man showed them how to play a drinking game that involved the girls sculling straight bourbon.
She said her friend became drunk and had a shower before going to bed.
While the man's daughter showered, the man allegedly touched the complainant indecently before raping her.
The man has pleaded not guilty to five charges - two of rape of a girl under 16, two of unlawful sexual connection with a girl under 16 and one of an indecent act with a girl under 16.
The trial is expected to last three days.
