An 18-year-old man has been remanded in custody after he appeared in Taumarunui District Court today.
He was charged with the murder of 56-year-old Simon Conrad.
Mr Conrad was found dead at a Para Street flat in Taumarunui about 7am on Saturday, following a party at the property the night before.
Police said those at the party were all known to each other and many had stayed the night.
The 18-year-old, who was granted interim name suppression, was remanded in custody to appear in Hamilton District Court next Monday.
