Investigations are continuing into a collision which killed two men in Tauranga this morning.
A motorcycle and small truck collided on Oropi Road near the intersection of State Highway 29 shortly after 9am this morning, Tauranga police Senior Sergeant Rob Glencross said.
"It is too early to say what happened before the crash, but they were travelling in opposite directions and we do not yet know if speed was a factor," Sen Sgt Glencross said.
He said it was a clear and sunny when the crash happened and driving conditions were excellent.
The motorcyclist, a 55 year-old Pyes Pa man, and the driver of the truck, a 68 year-old Greerton man, both died at the scene.
The names of the deceased are yet to be released.
