The 21-year-old Feilding man charged in relation to the Scott Guy homicide investigation has been bailed to a Queenstown address.
The man, who was arrested in Queenstown on Thursday by the Palmerston North-based detectives in charge of the inquiry, appeared before a registrar in the Queenstown District Court later in the day and was remanded to reappear in the court on April 18. He was granted interim name suppression.
Police central communications manager Kim Perks said two of the charges were related to the Guy case - intentionally damaging a building, namely a residential house in Aorangi Rd, intending to cause loss to Diamond Homes, on January 30 or 31, 2009; and arson of a house-removal trailer containing a building belonging to Brittons Housemovers on October 24 last year.
He faced four further charges not related to the homicide investigation: intentionally destroying calves at Himatangi, near Feilding, on August 9 or 10, 2007; intentionally destroying a quantity of milk at Himatangi on August 9, 2007; arson of property at Himatangi on March 21 or 22, 2008; and killing and theft of deer at Feilding on December 30 or 31, 2006.
