Date set for Peach deps hearing

A week has been set aside in January for a depositions hearing for Ashley Donald Peach, accused of murdering Christchurch cat rescue worker Kerry Leigh Downey in August.

The date was set for the hearing at a pre-depositions conference before Judge Jocelyn Munro in Christchurch District Court today.

Peach will remain in custody during the remand for the hearing on January 19.

He is charged with murdering Mrs Downey on August 18 when she was out on cat rescue work. Her body was found by a walker on the Port Hills, and her car was abandoned in Spreydon.
