Blenheim admits Armourguard robbery

A Blenheim man has pleaded guilty to stealing $100,000 from an Armourguard depot earlier this year.

Stanley William Tunnicliffe, 47, now unemployed, appeared in Blenheim District Court today charged with entering a building in Blenheim on January 14 with intent to commit a crime.

Tunnicliffe broke into Armourguard's Opawa Street office by cutting a hole in a wall in an area obscured from public view by shrubs and a large rock.

About a month later police recovered a large amount of the stolen cash on the outskirts of Blenheim.

Tunnicliffe will reappear for sentencing on May 1.
