Another lucky South Islander has landed a top prize on the Lotto, pocketing a $4.5 million win.
It comes just one week after Powerball was struck by a Christchurch player who bagged a massive $14.3 million.
Last night a lucky Lotto player from Blenheim won $4.5 million with Lotto Powerball First Division.
The winning ticket was sold at Countdown Blenheim.
The total was made up of $4 million from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.
"To have two big Powerball wins, two weeks in a row is incredible," said Lotto NZ's head of corporate communications Emilia Mazur.
"We're looking forward to meeting our latest Powerball winner and welcoming them to the Lotto millionaire's club."
Another Lotto player from Blenheim was also celebrating last night after winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division. The winning ticket was sold at Pak n Save Blenheim.
Strike Four was not struck, jackpotting to an estimated $700,000 next week.
Meanwhile, Eileen from Feilding spun and won $125,000 with the Winning Wheel on last night's live Lotto draw.
2014's Powerball winners:
- In February, a Lotto player from Auckland took home $26.2 million.
- The following week in March, a player from Christchurch collected $5 million.
- In early June, two players from Auckland and Hastings split the Powerball jackpot taking home $13.2 million each.
- Last week a Christchurch player won $14.3 million with Powerball.
