A ute driven by an elderly man collided with a car, which then shunted a parked ute into a house in Ravelston St, Dunedin, yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of Cavell and Ravelston Sts at 12.20pm.

Police said a white utility vehicle being driven in Ravelston St by a man in his 60s failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a car travelling along Cavell St.

The car was being driven by a 25-year-old woman.

The white utility vehicle was shunted into a parked blue utility vehicle, which in turn was shunted into a house, causing structural damage to the building.

One of the two people inside the house at the time, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital with chest pain after the crash.
