A St John spokeswoman said an ambulance was sent to the scene, at the intersection of Pine Hill Rd and Great King St North (State Highway 1), and treated one patient for minor injuries.
The patient did not need to be taken to hospital.
Police said there was minimal disruption to traffic.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said appliances were sent from the central Dunedin, Willowbank and St Kilda stations.
